The Recognition of Aging on Telemedicine

Abstract
Telemedicine includes all activities that deliver long-distance medical services and information by taking advantage of an interactive information and communication technology.

Objective: To study the recognition of telemedicine for aging.

Method: I surveyed the 194 aged from 1st July to 15th, August 2005, using guestionnaire surveys.

Results: The aged was satisfied of medical service about 40%, and sympathy of telemedicine service was 35.6%. The expectation of the service was to save of the moving time(71.1%), high accessibility(51.5%), and continuity(31.4%). The wanted place of the service for them was his/her house(58.8%) and they wanted the health insurance coverage and wanted to pay the service cost between 3,000¢¦5,000won(70.1%).

Conclusion: The aged wanted the telemedicine service by low cost. Consequently, we should effort health organization and government to develop of the service and educate the usage of the service to the aged.
